Love Bugscandy

Supplies:

½ pound Make'n Mold orchid candy wafers
½ pound Make'n Mold pink candy wafers
¼ pound Make'n Mold red candy wafers
Make'n Mold Decorative Heart Lollipop mold (3033)

2 oblong-shaped sponge cakes with cream filling
2 orchid candy wafers
2 pink candy wafers
2 Make'n Mold 4½" lollipop sticks or Valentine sticks

Melt orchid, pink and red candy wafers separately, according to instructions. Dip sponge cakes into melted orchid and pink candy wafers. Place on waxed paper. Chill 10-15 minutes.

Fill cavities in the heart mold with melted red candy wafers. Cut lollipop sticks in half. Place lollipop sticks in stick channel of mold, with at least 1" of the stick inserted into the melted wafers. Rotate stick to completely cover the end with melted wafers. Tap mold on flat surface to remove any air bubbles. Chill 10-15 minutes.

Invert mold onto flat surface and gently tap to remove candy lollipops.

Once candy hearts are finished and have reached room temperature, insert lollipop sticks into each side of each dipped sponge cake, to make the love bug’s wings.

Spoon a drop of melted pink wafers onto the center of each orchid candy wafer, to make the love bug’s eyes. Repeat with melted orchid candy wafers in the center of each pink candy wafer. Use melted candy wafers to attach pink candy wafer eyes to the front of the orchid love bug and orchid candy wafer eyes to the front of the pink love bug.

Place each finished bug on a doily or fancy plate and serve as special Valentine treats or party favors.
